Chapter 244. A Witness

Both Josh and Daniel whipped their heads toward the stairs, their eyes locking onto me with an intensity that sent chills down my spine. Sh*t, what do I keep messing up? 

My heart leaped into my throat, and I instinctively froze, gripping my phone so tightly I thought it might shatter. 

The Daniel guy literally had a pistol in his hand and had been shooting before I came, he did not look like a good guy at all, what if he kills me? But again, I didn’t think that Josh would allow that. 

Josh’s face remained calm, but I could see the flash of panic in his eyes. Daniel, on the other hand, was a different story. His gaze was murderous, his body rigid with barely contained rage.

He pointed his weapon directly at me, his finger twitching on the trigger. “Who is she?!” He thundered. “Is she your spy; recording everything so you can use it against me?” He was a bit shaky as he took a step forward so his aim could be on point.
