Chapter 247. Strained Conversations
I rubbed my eyes, feeling the weight of the impending decision still looming like a dark cloud over my head. The sleep had helped, but not nearly enough. Every thought from the previous night came rushing back, and as much as I wanted to feel some sense of relief, it just wasn’t there.
I pushed the blankets off and stood up, stretching before heading to the bathroom. My reflection in the mirror looked a little better today, especially when I had not eaten a thing yet or even gotten a drop of blood drink in my system.
Yeah, although my face was still a bit puffy, and the dark circles under my eyes were still evident, it seemed to have lightened a bit, in my opinion.
But my mind…it was still a tangled mess.
