Chapter 243. Gunshots and Money

The news hit me like a freight train. My stomach twisted at the information, and I squeezed the phone tightly, my knuckles going white. I felt so embarrassed and I wanted to bury myself inside a hole. 

My dad had been with Mark when I confessed everything. No wonder Mark sounded so cold so calculated. He was not just processing his own emotions—he had an audience. Could I even blame him or get mad at him for not keeping this private?
