Chapter 248. A Dog and Its Vomit

I flinched at the sound of the plate shattering against the floor, my heart pounding in my chest. I wanted to say that this was not the calm and collected Josh I knew, but the thing here was that I did know him to sometimes be aggressive and loud. 

A lot of men were like this; not all, but not all though. 

The sudden intensity in his voice, the frustration written all over his face—it was unnerving. But deep down, I knew this confrontation was inevitable. I personally think that it was best that it happened. 

I was tired of the room feeling so heavy. I was tired of the awkwardness. I was tired of feeling that he could snap at me at any moment and not knowing when. Or like he wanted to snap but had kept himself held back since he had found out about the phone call with Mark. 

“I’m not running away, and you certainly don’t have to raise your voice at me,” I replied, losing my appetite entirely, even though I was hungry and had not really even eaten
