Chapter 251. Burgers and Deep Questions

Our laughter echoed through the kitchen, and I actually started to feel more human; like I was not being suffocated by the weight of everything that had been happening. 

Josh’s eyes softened as he looked at me. “Burgers it is, then,” He said, his smile lingering as he reached gestured for us to leave the kitchen. “Ladies before gentlemen,” He chuckled the words out. 

I could not help but chuckle too. With my coffee in my hand which was already now cold, I walked out and down the hallway. I would need to change, so that meant that I had to head to my room. 

“Give me a sec,” I said to him before we parted ways. When I was in my room, I closed the door and just decided to gulp the entire coffee down. And that was what I did. I drank the entire mug in seconds and then let out a satisfied sigh. 

I placed the mug on the bedside and then headed to the bathroom, looking at my reflection in the mirror. I had not had a blood drink yet my skin was starting
