Chapter 259. It's Happening

I sat down on one of the couches in the living room and just accepted that I was going to feel this way no matter what I tried to do so I could not. I was going to be anxiety’s victim whether I liked it or not. 

So why not accept it and just go through with the call and the day? 

My breath caught in my throat as Mark’s words sank in. The question echoed in my mind, each repetition weighing heavier than the last. Am I ready to come home? 

“Mark,” I began, and my tone must have betrayed me because he did not let me finish. 

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” He said as he scoffed angrily. 

“Calm down, she hasn’t said anything yet,” I could hear my dad say in the background. 

“Fine,” He replied to the man before coming back to the phonecall. “Lisa, do you need me to pick you up? I think you’ve got everything we need to take Josh down.”

“I have learned a lot, but there is an opportunity to learn much more,” I replied, my voice
