Chapter 26. The Elevator

I heard some footsteps and then the door of the room opened and closed, signaling that Mark had left the space. I released a breath that I did not know that I was holding. My heart ached but I still needed time. 

I had forgiven Mark, I really had done so but my heart and mind were still in a weird place, I was still healing and every time I saw him, I could feel a heavy stab in my chest, and the breath would be knocked out of my lungs, and that was not in the good way at all. 

I finally found something to wear and got ready for work. When I was ready, I walked out of the room and headed to the kitchen. I was hungry and could feel my stomach yearning for food; for anything that could take me through the morning. 

I opened the fridge and took out one of the blood drinks. I was still a vampire and I knew that I had to care for myself even though I was no more close to Bradley anymore. I noticed that the carton of blood drinks was still in there but the number
