Chapter 27. The Fake Wedding

My heart skipped a beat at a beat at the mention of Mark and what the guy had done to me. I hated that he was brought up because now I had this heavy feeling in my chest and did not know how to get rid of it.

“It’s none of your business,” I scolded the CEO in a firm tone as I pointed my index finger at him for a few seconds. “Whether I decide to f*ck Mark again, it’s certainly none of your concern.”

A look of hurt crossed the guy’s face but I stood by my word. “You really do want me to leave you alone, huh?” He chuckled sadly as the elevator finally came to a stop, the automated doors opening. 

“I—“ I was ready to say yes but that would be lying. Sighing, I flashed him a small sad smile. “I just don’t want drama in my life, Bradley. I want to be safe, I want a normal life. I want peace and not to look over my shoulder continuously.”

A few seconds of silence passed between them as they stood in the elevator but were brought back to reality when the doors started
