Chapter 279. No Approval
As we walked down the hallway, my heart rate increased. I was now more anxious than ever. But this was what I had signed up for. This was what I wanted, if Josh was going to let a man die, I would rather that the guy know why he was dying.
“Are you okay?” He asked, pulling me out of my thoughts. “You seem…quiet.”
“I’m fine,” I replied dully. “I’m just still a bit annoyed from being woken up from the construction work.”
“Renovation,” he corrected me and I rolled my eyes playfully, causing him to chuckle. That also helped the tension to die down a bit.
