Chapter 284. Bittersweet Victory

I hung up the phone, my hands trembling as I tried to process what my dad had just said. Mark? What about him? Did he do something stupid? Was he okay? Was he having a mental break? 

The questions just kept running through my head. My heart pounded in my chest as I placed the phone back from where I had taken it from. I was worried, I had no idea what was going on back at the house, and the fact that my dad did not want to tell me on the phone made me overthink even more. 

I ran my hand through my hair and tried to calm myself down but it was not easy. 

“Are you okay? Is everything okay?” Josh asked, concern plastered on his face. 

“I don’t know, my dad wants me to go home. He said it’s about Mark.” 

“Do you want me to go with you? I can if you want.”
