Chapter 2

Diana woke up that morning feeling so cold and weak. Her wrists and ankles ached so much that she couldn’t help but wonder why.

She couldn’t remember anything from the previous night, so there was no way she would know that it was from there.

The strange being that came to her rescue went the extra mile by taking her to her house. He muttered some words into her ears, made sure she woke up, and then disappeared. Not knowing what had happened, she went into her house and then slept until morning.

She gazed at the bedside clock ticking non-stop right above her head and flew up almost immediately. It was almost 10 AM, and she was to meet one of her clients by 11.

“Oh my goodness! How come I slept this long?” She wondered as she sauntered into the bathroom to get her bath. She returned a few minutes after, wore her clothes hurriedly, and then darted out of the house after applying some make-up.

The cool breeze from the beach blew on his skin, making it tingle. He felt euphoric as the boobs of the two women beside him caressed his arms.

“It’s so cold here!” One of the women said with pouted lips, winking continuously at him.

He understood what she meant, and he had only managed to keep himself from making the request. His dick was as hard as a rock, noticeable if he hadn’t placed a magazine over it.

He had decided to take a break from sex and flirting for a while, but then the two damsels beside him were making it difficult for him.

It took all the bravery he could muster to make that decision, and now it was going to take stronger willpower for Michael to resist them.

Michael. That was his name. He was the son of one of the wealthiest billionaires in the world and was popularly referred to as the Flirt Lord. Only a few women were able to refuse him and his powerful antics.

“If it’s so cold, then you should get some warmth in the comfort of your room and not on my body,” he uttered without mincing words, taking her by surprise. He had never rejected a woman or rather, he had never rejected a beautiful woman.

“But... your body would give us just the right heat we need,” they pressed further, giggling like they were some two-year-olds.

“Can you please excuse me?” he muttered, staring lucidly at them.

“But...” One of them tried to protest the way he treated them but couldn’t before he yelled at them.

“I said you should excuse me!” He yelled with a note of finality and watched them scurry off like they were some squirrels.

He felt an air of relief blow around him as soon as they had gone. He couldn’t explain why but knew it felt good.

He stared into space thinking of what his father said to him that morning before he angrily left home.

“You either get your acts together, stop your stupid acts, and return to Harvard for your Master’s degree or I’d have you sent to India,” his father had said with so much anger in him after he had returned from a club, drunk as hell.

“What do you mean, dad?” He had asked in protest. He reeked of alcohol, and his father and siblings had to twitch their noses a little so they didn’t get choked.

“I mean every damn thing I just said, and if I see no change in you within the next two weeks, you’d take the first plane off to India,” his father responded and then stormed out of the room.

Now, he would have to do as his father had requested and quit those habits of his. Just last year, he had been lucky not to have contracted HIV, but that didn’t mar him one bit... His father’s threat did.

The fear of being sent to India made him rethink his life. He would have to leave everything he loved and cared for, and that was the last thing he wanted.

Leaving his pack was the last thing he would ever do, and he would anything in the world just to remain with them.

He was the alpha of the Orange pack, one of the biggest in the United States and with the highest level of security. It would take you a whole lot of investigation and money to find out a member of the pack or where they had their meetings.

He sighed staring into space. His stomach made a rumbling sound that indicated his need for food. It was so strong that no matter how hard he tried to ignore it, it just wouldn’t yield.

He stood from where he sat, walking slowly to the cafeteria north of the beach.

He pressed on, staring at his phone, which was making some sounds, and didn’t realize when he bumped into a lady who was moving as briskly as she could along the sandy path. The documents in her hand came crashing to the floor with a noiseless thud.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going!” she apologized as she gathered her files from the floor.

“Next time you should have your mind on where you’re going and not in some sassy unprofitable things,” he snapped at her with hands akimbo.

He wasn’t ready for the response he got next.

“Are you kidding me right now? You were the one with your eyes glued to your phone and wasn’t watching, and yet you have the effrontery to accuse me! The nerve!” She blurted all at once in exasperation.

“You must be an uncouth and sassy lady considering the way you speak.”

She was shocked by his words.

“Do you know who you are talking to?” He went on to ask, adding fuel to the fiery furnace.

“You must be mad! Extremely mad! How dare you call me uncouth and sassy? Yes, I know who you are. You are the son of the famous billionaire, but that doesn’t give you any right to say damn things at me!”

He went on to curse, and she landed him a slap across the right cheek, leaving him partially deaf for a few moments.

“That’s for saying trash things about me.” She sauntered off without a second glance.

He stared at her as she left, surprised as hell. He couldn’t believe that she had actually slapped him.

She was the same person he had saved from the men the previous night, and the best she could do was slap him. No, he wasn’t going to have any of those.

He walked briskly toward her and pulled her to himself, staring into her eyes.

“What do you want from me?” she asked with a defiant look, trying to break away from him, but he wouldn’t budge.

“You are such an ingrate!” He slammed the words at her, taking her off her feet.

“How dare you? What have you done for me that requires me to be grateful to you?” She laughed out loud, so loud that it drew the attention of others there.

“I saved you last night from those men who wanted to kill you.”

“What do you mean you saved me?” she asked as a frown etched on her face.

“You would have been dead by now if not for me, so instead of being so arrogant, you should be thankful,” he muttered, lowered himself to her height, and then planted a kiss on her lips.

It was warm and felt so good, but the spirit in Diana wouldn’t let her agree. She broke away from him and then gave him a kick below the belt.

He groaned in pain, clutching his manhood where he had been hit.

“Are you hurt?” she asked sarcastically.

“Do I look like I’m not hurt?” He shot back at her with bloodshot eyes. He couldn’t hide his anger even for a minute.

“Well, I wish the pain doesn’t go,” she uttered as a peal of laughter rang on her lips. She went off before he could utter another word.

“I’m surely going to get you. I’m going to make you pay for hurting me. I swear!” He declared as he watched her leave.
