Chapter 16

Xavier was out, but Lyca remained dumbfounded. Until now, she’s still confused by the feelings that Xavier awakened.

“What’s wrong with me? Did I just—” Lyca halted and covered my mouth. “I almost made love to Xavier!”

With trembling hands, Lyca put on her clothes while trying to calm herself down. Lyca didn’t want to admit it, but the truth is she liked Xavier’s touches.

“No! No! It’s just a burst of emotion! Lyca, don’t be deceived by what happened! Remember Matthew! He is in danger, and that’s because of you!” Lyca sighed a few times to calm herself down.

After a few minutes, Xavier returned with Kai and Jaxson who couldn’t hide their amazement.

“Did you really succeed?” Kai asserted with a broad smile on his face.

Although Lyca managed to calm herself, she still couldn’t look at Xavier. “I almost killed Xavier, so I can’t call it a success,” Lyca answered as she focused her gaze on the ground for fear that her eyes would meet with Xavier’s.
