Chapter 12

Our lips remained in contact for a few minutes. Both our eyes were shut and his palm was around the back of my neck. 

The whole room was quiet; he finally withdrew his lips from mine, and we both opened our eyes. I stared into his indigo eyes, and he stared into mine.

"I love you, Kira," he said with a soft voice.

I blushed a little and replied shyly, "Me too."

Both he and commander Michael stood behind two different podiums opposite each other, and in the centre of a large hall. sitting around them were other military personnel wearing white uniforms stained with light grey camouflage. They wore white masks that covered their entire face, leaving only one eye exposed.
