Chapter 76

At the hospital, Jia carried a bouquet of flowers on her way to her mother's room. She greeted some of the nurses along the way and tried to act nicely even though she was tired from work.

"How's your day?" she asked her mother, who was sitting and drinking a box of fruit juice that Jia bought.

"Not much. Can't complain much," her mother replied. "Just a bit of this drink. It tastes odd."

"It's a medicinal drink. It has herbs in it, Josh–" she took a pause and still continued, "He said he bought it from a friend of his."

Her mother smiled at the thought of Joshua still caring for her. She was beyond happy how Joshua kept his promise when he visited her. That boy always came and brought what he thought she needed.

"I'm glad both of you are talking."
