Chapter 14
From one wolf to a whole pack, the howling only got louder and eerily close. Kayden knew something was up after hearing the first howl. But he couldn’t exactly break into a run and shift to join them. Not when he and his wolf are held in place but the warmest of touch on his arms. He looks to where Zayla’s hands were embracing his arm tightly, eyes wide in fear.
“Hey, you’re okay.” He whispered as he covered her hands in his, forgetting that he was about to link his mind to his pack. Zayla’s hands were shaking underneath his and he couldn’t bring himself to space out even just for a little while. He also knew that his wolf won’t allow him to leave his mate in any way.
Zayla looked up at Kayden as if only realizing their close proximity, she started to loosen her hold on him, “Sorry. I— I wasn’t really scared. Just— I mean I work as a wildlife photographer and I’ve seen wolves. Heard them as well. But this is my first time hearing them real close with no real barriers, yo
