Zayla’s POV

What I thought was a normal vacation in Portland turned out to be something out of the ordinary. From hearing of Kayden’s past to being kidnapped. Now finding out about werewolves.

“This is not real. This can’t be possible.” I repeated this out loud, shaking my head in disbelief. “You’re tripping.” I looked over at Kayden straight in the eye waiting for a punchline or for someone to jump out of any of the doors in the house screaming ‘Sike! You got pranked!’

“I wish I was. But Jackson he wanted you as a ma—” I stopped Kayden by raising a hand while holding the bridge of my nose.

“Don’t even say ‘mate’. Just don’t, please.” Taking a deep breath, I sat down on the couch and Kayden followed, sitting a little farther away from me.
