Chapter 17
Zayla’s shriek echoed through the forest as Jackson carried her over his shoulder.
“Took you long enough to come back, Will.” He started whistling like he was a lumberjack finally coming down the mountain after the day’s work.
“Let— me— GO!” Zayla desperately tried to free herself by wiggling around in his hold. But his arms are securely locked around her waist, leaving her no room to move. But she was able to move her head, at least, and see where she was being taken to. She could at least track her step back to her car if Jackson ever decides to drop her on her feet.
‘Those are…’ Zayla, upon looking around while still being carried over somewhere, saw four men come out of the trees following them. She recognized them as Kayden’s neighbors. Or at least, that’s who she thinks they are.
