Chapter 10. It’s Personal
As Clinton paced around the house, a look of depression crossed his face. With both hands behind his back, he continued to murmur and grumble to himself.
“We couldn’t find her,” Samuel announced. He proceeded to Clinton and stood before him as he continued. “We looked everywhere but couldn’t find her.”
“That’s not possi…”
“Looking for me?” Mary startled Clinton, pushing back his words. “Look no further; I am here.”
“Where have you been?” Clinton’s eyes widened. He looked confused and lost, and so was Samuel, who had searched the entire house for her.
“We need to talk,” she said. “In private.”
Clinton glanced at Samuel. “You mind excusing us, will you?”
