Chapter 16. Cutting a Deal

“I heard,” she responded. “But what does that have to do with an old witch like me?”

“We made a mistake and now we want you to help us fix it,” Dean said without hesitation. He drew closer to Mrs. Willie and continued in a refined voice. “When we daggered Clinton, we cloaked him with magic that none of his werewolf allies would find him. Now, rumor has it that a gypsy girl found him and pulled the dagger off his chest. We need to make it right.”

Mrs. Willie brought her lips closer to Dean and whispered. “You still haven’t answered my question. What does that have to do with an old witch like me?”

“We all know what’s at stake here,” Eva cuts in. She narrowed her gaze on Mrs. Willie and continued. “Clinton has always wanted to break the curse of the moon to enable him to be the alpha of his first bloodline. We all know what will be the fate of the vampires and possibly witches when the werewolves could easily transform any time they chose.”
