Chapter 148. Jack and Queen

In a motel close to the airport downtown, Mary eventually caught up with Daniel’s scent. She didn’t want Daniel to notice her being there. As she drew near Daniel’s chamber door, she turned invisible.

She sighed with relief as she looked out the window. Although there was no obvious sign of anyone, she can still hear three heartbeats. “What’s going on?” she mutters switching to the next window.

Not quite long, her eyes were drawn to the door of the bathroom. It was opened halfway and there was a blood stain on the doorknob. She could as well smell the blood from the hallway where she was standing.

As she walked through the wall in her invisible state, she started making her way to the bathroom still maintaining her cover. “Oh no,” she whispered.
