POV: Rhys Anderson
I stared at Harmony in disbelief. Had she meant what she said? Did she mean that what happened last night between us was all a joke? Oh, my freaking goodness! Again and again, I had constantly been played by Harmony, but I kept on going back to her every time she uttered my name. Was I a fool? What kind of spell did she have me under? Why did she keep hurting me and tearing my heart into pieces without caring how badly I got broken? Why? Why? Why did I keep letting myself be used by her? Why?
I felt stupid, embarrassed and my heart ached. It hadn’t hurt that way since my first love, Ashley, shattered it, and after the heartbreak she had served me five years ago, I had thought that I had outgrown being heartbroken, but this was a different kind of game. Wow, Harmony! Wow!
Clenching my fists tightly, I turned away and began to walk hurriedly out of their presence, wishing for the ground to open up and swallow me whole.
