I was out of the car and in the house a second after Donovan's comment. I know he came after me, I couldn't be sure about Daciana. But knowing the state she must be in, I know she wouldn't risk it by running.

I'm gliding through the multiple flights of stairs. This is the fastest I've ever run in my entire life. Even with my lycan speed and everything. I felt I was being slow.

I throw the door to my room open. Expecting to find Adriana in the bed, how I knew she last was after I tucked her in. The worst thought I had was, I would find a clone version of me, which would be Dreaya's doing of course.

But the bed was empty. And made. It was clear to see it hadn't been laid on.

"Do you believe me now?" I ignored Donavan's gloating voice from behind me and moved further into the room.
