Tangled Hearts: Chapter 39

Chris couldn’t believe what he heard. He didn’t know the best way to react and he just sat there, looking at her. It felt like an eternity had passed as his mind wandered around. He didn’t want to believe the fact that he may have lost her again before he was even given the chance to win her over. Who is he? Where is he from? How did they meet? What did he do to her to make her love him after loving only Ryan for more than six years? Different questions flashed in his mind to which he didn’t have an answer to and desperately needed one.

Isabella tucked tendrils of hair behind her ear as she waited for the man opposite her to say a word, just anything. The seconds ticked by and he did nothing but just stare at her and as expected, she became uncomfortable.

“Chris,” she whispered, “say something.”

Her voice, although low, called him out of his trance. He cleared his throat and glanced away from her momentarily.

“How did that happen?”

“I don’t understand.”
