Chapter 8
The doorbell rings, and I give my brother a disdainful look. He looks at me strangely, but I don't pay much attention to it. When I open the door, Jack is standing in front of me, dressed in a suit and wearing more cologne than usual. He doesn't say anything, just walks in and stands in front of my brother. I'm still processing what just happened and his presence here. It's hard for me to grasp it until I rush to prevent him from saying anything stupid.
"Your sister is a person..."
"He knows," I interrupt him. "It's not like Anastasia."
"Don't tell me you're pretending to love each other," Evans bursts into laughter, and Jack's attitude changes dramatically. They are both the same age, even I am the same age as Evans because we are twins.
"Your sister is a horrible person," Jack smiles cynically, takes off his tie, and tosses his jacket onto the furniture. "No offense."
