I thought parents only cried for their children when they died. I know, it's a strange concept of life. I've never been good with reflections or philosophical thoughts. I'm more of an impulsive action-taker, doing whatever comes to mind. I wish I could tell Alana that she didn't have to run away from our marriage, that she could stay and I could pretend to have a business trip. But she's gone, and her mother seems to know it.
I don't know how long it takes for a mother's love to realize that what she did for her daughter wasn't what she should have done. Perhaps Alana's outburst was her way of saying that she's grown up, that she's an adult, and she can choose how to live her life from now on. And she's absolutely right. None of us should be bound by our parents' rules, nor should we be more concerned about what they want for us than what we want for ourselves. These are basic rules, rules that everyone should follow.
