“Oh, shush, let me think.” He growls at me and sits to reason for a solution out.
While he does, I play over and over the events of last night. How the hell did I not notice it was him? I’ve been obsessed with his features since I got to the hotel enough to study them leisurely whenever he wasn’t looking. Why on earth would I let just a fraction of the paper along half of his face completely deceive me? Why would I think that any other person would drive the same color as his car?
And Du Bois hotels… of course, he’d pick Du Bois hotels. That’s his freaking business.
I face-palm myself several times before he comes to stop me.
“Panicking won’t help the issue, Savannah.” He holds both of my hands to stop me from causing me a headache. “Here’s the plan. I’ll leave first, then buy you some clothes, then pretend like we came together, but no one ever noticed… because no one really does.”
