Chapter 40

So far, dinner was great. Nothing interesting happened except the food that came in and they immediately dug in, occasionally involved in a senseless conversation, so that was great.

However, Morgan feared that things were about to become serious as the atmosphere in the room changed. The air seemed to become thick with tension.

Her gaze kept shifting between Julie and Roi. It looked like they wanted to say something, but didn’t know to begin.

Morgan Daniels took a sip of her wine and sat back, waiting for them to say whatever was on the tip of their tongue.

Maia’s hand lays on Morgan's thigh, making her head shoot in her direction. She leaned in before speaking.

“I need to use the bathroom” she whispered so only both of us could hear.

Morgan nodded, placing a quick kiss on her lips before she stood up and walked away. As Maia walked, Morgan's gaze stayed focused on her, enjoying as she swayed her hips from side to side, and in the process, stole
