Chapter 33. Sour Blood
Bree’s POV
As I sit in the front seat of Hayden’s car, I can’t wait to get home and lie in bed. It felt awkward being here; I kept fiddling and shifting. I am in my seat because my nerves are constantly working. I want to tell myself it has nothing to do with the green-eyed boy beside me. He has been on my mind for the last few hours, making me angst.
His confession last night caught me off guard, and I just stood there speechless, saying absolutely nothing. I knew he was hurt by my lack of response to his feelings, but I didn’t know what to do either.
