Chapter 35. Nerves

Hayden’s POV

I was nervous about Bree’s response to my feelings. I know I still had three more days until the game, but that didn’t stop my heart from racing. I had told her I would let her know if she decided that I wasn’t worth being with, but would I be able to do that? It’s been years, and yet I’m not able to get over her.

I was currently at the field, practicing for the game on Friday. I looked at the rest of my teammates as they ran laps around the field. I know it was a petty thing to do, but I had warned them that Bree was off limit. I didn’t want any of them close to her except for Dylan and Daniel because I knew they didn’t feel that way about her.

“Let’s take a five-minute break.” I say, running to sit on the bench with a bottle of water in my hands. I gulped down the water, my breath heretic.

“I can’t wait for practice to be done; Maddie is waiting for me.” Dylan Say, taking a seat beside Daniel, followed after.

“You are so whipped.”
