For reasons like these, I didn't have many friends. From the moment I entered the restaurant, I realized that Pietro would do everything possible to embarrass me in front of Amanda, and things only got worse when his wife, Claudia, arrived.
I would never admit it to her, but that woman was genuinely frightening, especially when she carried that wooden rolling pin, waving it around like a complete lunatic.
I let out a sigh when they led us to a table, leaving us for a bit of privacy. Actually, I think they got tired of poking their noses where they didn't belong.
"How long have you known them?" Amanda asked, taking me by surprise.
