Chapter 27

Rose's POV

I went into the room I shared with Jayden in a daze. Jayden was by my side as soon as I opened the door.

"What was that about, Ro? Why was she in pain?" He asked curiously and I burst into tears again. I could not get the image of her battered body out of my head, and I felt like I had failed as a mother. 

"I've failed as a mother, Jay. Adrian has disgraced me, and I'm not worthy of being called a mother," I said amidst tears. Jayden led me towards our bed and held me till my tears subsided.

"Adrian was having sex with another woman. That's why Lola was in pain," I said softly into his shoulder and felt his body stiffen in anger at my words. 

"Everybody knows what happens when you have sex with another person when you have a mate. What's wrong with him?" He said in anger, and I cried again.
