Chapter 26

Lola's POV

I was awakened when I felt fire spreading through my body. It started from my neck and spread to my toes. I was trying to keep my screams of agony in, but I couldn't help but let out whimpers of pain.

I know this pain; I've gone through it before, and I knew it was going to get worse in a minute. Tears leaked from my eyes, not because of the pain but from hurt and betrayal. 

Jasmine whimpered in my head, and I cried harder. My poor wolf. She's gotten nothing but pain and tragedy since I was 10. Selene lied to me. Fuck her and her words of deceit. "To prepare you for what's to come" my foot. I am just 18. Why do I have to go through this? 

"I'm sorry, Jas. I'm sorry for putting you through this again," I cried into the mindlink, and she howled in pain in my head. I felt her trying to take my pain, but I blocked her out. I could not let her take it again; if she kept doing that, I'd lose her in no time.
