It was morning, and I felt weak and tired, not wanting to lift a foot from the bed. It was a Sunday morning, and I was getting to spend the day away from the commotion of the office.
I called Danica on the landline wanting to be tended to in my room today.
“Bring up the breakfast. I’m not coming down,” I said to Danica, and she ended the call.
A few minutes later, she was up with the tray in her hands and the plate on the tray.
“Anything else you would need, sir?”
“Nothing, maybe later,” she nodded and turned on her heels, not seeking extra attention or time. I was sure she loved the respect she commanded from the other girls and the affection they showed toward her; I don’t think she will do anything to ruin the position she is in right now.
On funny occasions or under normal circumstances, she should and would be regarded as the first senior wife who commanded all authorities and controlled other activities.
