Chapter 107. Choosing Myself
Leah’s POV
I blinked rapidly for a few seconds at the question. Why was he looking at me like that though? Why was he looking at me as if I had killed someone or maybe, worse?
I had chosen to do something that was in my best interest, and it was not like I had much of a choice though. Sasha’s parents wanted to help me and all I had to do was shut my mouth. If I did not agree to the deal, they were going to become enemies to me.
And God knows that I did not need those people as enemies. They were way too powerful and influential.
I nodded slowly, my heart sinking into my stomach. “Yes. I mean…I didn’t have a choice, Rafael. I didn’t know what else to do. They said they’d make it all go away; that they would help me break free from the claws of your family and go back. That I could go back home, that my mom would be safe. That they’d protect me.”
He blinked, wounded. “So what? You trust them more than me now?”
