Chapter 108. Home Sweet Home

Leah’s POV

The plane lifted off the ground with a sudden lurch that made my stomach twist, both from the motion and everything I was leaving behind. It all felt like it was a dream, like I was still at Rafael’s mansion and I was still on the bed, just dreaming. 

But I knew that it was real. And I knew that I had made the right choice, no matter what my emotions were trying to convince me of. 

The moment we were airborne, the weight on my chest didn't vanish…it just shifted. Like it had settled somewhere deeper, quieter, where I wouldn’t have to face it immediately. It was quiet and I replayed everything that had just happened in my mind over and over again. Just like a broken weapon.

Of all the times and plans that I had to escape and go back home, who would have thought that this would have been the way that it’d happen? I did not even get to hear or see what Kate and Jules’s plan was, but I’m sure that they would be happy to know
