Chapter 138. The Study (2)

Leah’s POV

Blood. It was all over the place. I didn't even know that I was screaming until he looked at me; until Rafael looked at me. He was holding something in his hand that looked like the other piece of what looked like a vase. 

“Leah…I…I didn’t mean it. It just—” He dropped the rest of the vase and it fell to the floor in a thud. It didn’t break, it just bounced slightly before becoming still. 

I stopped screaming but my heart was racing. I did not know what had happened, and I was so scared. My breathing was heavy and fast and it felt like I was going to have a heart attack. Then the night that I had gotten into that car crash appeared in my head. 

It was almost as if it was a reminder; almost as if it had appeared in my mind to tell me that I was strong. I had saved the driver’s life by acting fast and in that kind of situation. So maybe…maybe I could do the same now.
