Chapter 149. Emotions
Leah’s POV
I stood still, hoping that I would be invisible if I didn’t make a move. But I knew that it was just a lie that I was telling myself.
I knew that there was no running away from what was happening. I was a part of it, no matter what. Even if I went into a corner and covered my ears, that was not going to change anything.
So the best thing that I could do was face it all.
“Rafael,” I said his name in a breathy way. I was scared, I was. My heart was pounding but I knew that I couldn’t just stand there and watch. I needed to do something, or at least try.
“No!” He shouted at me. “No!” The second one caused his voice to break, tears flowing from his eyes freely. Then he fell to his knees. “I didn’t—I didn’t mean it. I just—I was so angry, Leah.” He covered his face as he sobbed.
