Leah’s POV
Worried or not, I was still going to head to the hospital. I was still going to push aside my feelings and pretend that I wasn’t drowning in anxiety or nerves.
I pressed the gas and the car jerked forward even more, now in the ongoing traffic. I kept my eyes on the road as I muttered a prayer of protection over me and everyone in my life right now.
When I reached the hospital, I parked next to a blue truck and then killed the engine. The silence in the car was loud but I didn’t let it get to me.
I unfastened my seat belt and grabbed the flowers and sweets that I had bought before getting down from the car. Once I locked the vehicle, I made my way towards the building, worrying clinging to me.
My left eye was still twitching, and no matter how much I prayed in my head, it just didn’t stop.
