Chapter 43. The Doctor’s Office

Leah’s POV

“Leah… Leah… Leah,” the voice kept calling my name but I still could not recognize who it was. I blinked and then I was pulled back into reality. 

I looked around and I was no longer in the living room. I was at the doctor’s office. I recognized the place immediately and I sat up. The first person that I saw was Wendy. She was standing right next to me and had something like a binder in her hand.

“Good to see that you’re back. How do you feel?” She flashed me a small smile but I could see the concern in her eyes. She kept looking at me, waiting for me to say something. 

I swallowed, my throat feeling dry. The heaviness was slowly returning to my chest as my memories started to become vivid. I could not remember how I managed to get inside of this room, but I did remember the words of Rafael’s father. 

In fact, I think that was the only thing that I could remember so vividly. And just like that, the words linger
