Chapter 49. An Unknown Emotion

Leah’s POV

I did not know what to say, but at the same time, I think I did know. I think I did want to go to the party. I think I did want to try to heal whatever trauma that my mind had associated with parties. 

I wanted to help to ease some of the heaviness on my chest. And of course, I knew. I knew that it was not only about being kidnapped and having my life ripped away from me. I mean, that had a huge role in it all, but I needed to acknowledge that it also had something to do with my best friend being so disrespectful to me, all because she was hurt. 

And it was not like I was the one who had hurt her, I wasn’t. I had only been trying to help. I knew that she would have slept with random guys, gotten wasted, and done something even more stupid that she was going to regret the next day. 

I just wanted to be there for her, you know? I just wanted to help her. And I ended up being on the receiving end of her anger and pain,
