Chapter 78. Fast and Slow

Leah’s POV

It was all happening so fast, I could barely process what was going on until it was all over. But let me tell you what happened.

The FBI agents were talking to each other and the police chief had left the office, but he had left the door slightly opened and for some reason, I felt like he was intentional when he had done that.

Because the agents did not have their attention on the door and were trying to talk with each other, they did not know what was going on. They did not notice the man walking into the office.

And I have to give it to the guy, he entered very quietly and smoothly. If I was being honest, if I had not been paying close attention to the door and overthinking, I think I would have missed him too.

But as I was saying, before I knew it. The guy was standing in the office and had a huge gun. When I say huge, I don’t mean that it was gigantic. I just meant that it was bigger than a pistol.
