Chapter 83. The Hole (2)
Leah’s POV
I stood there, my heart thumping in my chest. I made sure to remember and go by what Rafael had told me. That being that I should mind my business. So I kept staring at my hands, but I could feel the eyes of the guards on me.
It was like they wanted to say something to me but they kept their mouths shut.
Rafael finally opened the door with the keycard and I lifted my head and followed him. We walked past the door and there was another hallway. This one looked a bit cleaner and nicer. But nevertheless, they were still cells.
It was still a prison.
Most of the cells up here were empty. Only a few had people in it, and the ones who I saw in them looked like people who were more…diplomatic. They seemed like important people; maybe important folks who had gotten on the wrong side of Rafael or his family.
Was this where the FBI agent was being kept? If so, why? Maybe because he was not a citizen
