Leah’s POV

Jake’s words echoed in my mind as I stood there and stared at me. I don’t know whether I should even take him seriously, that’s the thing. I did not trust him, and I did not know much about him. 

All I knew was that he was not loyal and had been dating Sasha before what had happened at the party. “Are you playing some kind of sick joke on me right now? Cos’...I really can’t do this right now.” I turned to leave, but he did not let go of my arm. It was still in his grasp. 

“Please, Leah. Just hear me out. I’m begging you. I swear to my parents that it’s not a joke or anything. It’s not a prank. I’m not like Sasha. As you know, what happened at the party that night, I was in the dark. I had no idea that it was going to go down. And you know this.”
