Chapter 91. The Deal

Leah’s POV

I needed to make sure, I needed to understand fully what Rafael was saying. I needed to know what he meant. 

I mean, all of this sounded good, and it was almost as if my plan that I had was coming together or falling into place. But before being all happy and hopeful, I needed to make sure that this deal was what I thought it was. 

“And what if you realize that you do have feelings for me?” I asked him, waiting for his answer. 

He smiled, scoffing faintly right after. “You have nothing to worry about, Leah. I told you, right? I don’t have a heart.” 

“That won’t cut it, Rafael. You are not a god or some alien that’s above human emotions. You have a heart, and no matter what happened in the past to make you feel like you don’t does not mean that something else can’t happen that would change that perspective,” I explained to him. 

“So you got to tell me,” I continued. “I need to know. Trust me, I’m
