Chapter 31. Jealousy and Redemption

Dominic’s POV

I just couldn’t sit still. I paced around my office. I just couldn’t shut the picture of Leila’s face with tears smeared all over it. But how could she still defend Mia after everything?

But I was going to get to the bottom of this. I won’t just let Mia off without answers.

I walked over to his desk and pressed a button on the intercom. “Mia, come to my office. Now,” I said into the device, giving the girl no time to argue.

An almost invisible pause followed the invitation through the airwaves. Crackling came from the box. “Yes, Mr. Anderson. I’m on my way.”

I ran through each word of the foregoing conversation that had taken place between Mia and Leila. I could feel every inflection in her voice, every drop of venom that cauterized Mia. I had to know what would have driven Mia to that point. What had stoked her jealousy to that dangerous point?

A few minutes later, there was a quiet knock at the door.

“Come in,” Dominic
