Chapter 60. Lines in the Sand
Luca’s POV
I burst the door to his office open with my hand and walked inside. “Where is she, Dominic?”
The wood paneling on the walls of the big room seemed to add resonance to my voice as it exploded around. The man behind the gleaming oak desk stayed unreadable; he always did. It was always that same mask of cold impassivity.
Dominic leaned back in his leather chair, fingers steepled in front of him, the picture of control—calm as ever. “Are you referring to Leila?” His voice was so measured, that it bordered on boredom.
I took one step forward, fists clenched at my sides. “You know damn well who I’m talking about. You sent her away without telling me. What the hell were you thinking? Is this your way of working things out? Is this your way of proving that you care about our relationship?”
