If someone asks Precious what he looks forward to to a new year, he will be stumped for a minute. The new year to him is a reoccurrence of the previous year in a different alternate reality. The previous years on repeat.

If someone asks Precious what he looks forward to a new month, he will hesitate to answer. He will hesitate because he doesn't want to be a Debbie Downer, a pessimist, an ingrate.

If someone asks Precious if he remembers to appreciate the start of a new month, for this he will answer immediately.

Because he does appreciate every first day of the month. He might not look forward to it but he acknowledges that if he breathes every first day of the month, that is a great accomplishment.

No one asks him if he looks forward to February. No one in the Pack would dare. This is the question he wants to answer the most. This wouldn't stump him, he wouldn't hesitate to answer for he remembers everything.
