Chapter 33. Why Wasn’t the Wedding Canceled?
Iris’s POV
“The wedding was meant to be canceled,” I said, looking so confused and surprised.
Oliver smirked, leaning back in his chair as if he had all the time in the world. “And who told you that?”
I frowned. “What are you saying, Oliver?”
But instead of answering, he let out another one of his useless, infuriating laughs and frustrating laughs.
That same mocking sound that made my blood boil.
“You think the world revolves around you, Iris? You really believe no one would move on? Everyone has moved on—I have, they have, and so have you,” he said. “This is our life now.”
My life? This was not the life he promised me.
“This wasn’t the plan Oliver!”
“You’re never satisfied, Iris,” Oliver spat. “You should learn to be content with what you have.”
