Chapter 35. The Baby Is out of the Way!
Iris’s POV
Before I could push Oliver further, June burst back into the room, with the midwives right behind her.
“I think the baby is coming already,” Oliver said, exhaling heavily.
The midwives moved quickly, helping me into position, holding me firm and gentle. One of them frowned.
“The baby isn’t meant to come now.”
“Well… maybe she just couldn’t wait,” Oliver muttered.
I turned my head to glare at him, feeling disgusted by his lies.
If he hadn’t pushed me, I wouldn’t be in labor right now.
“Please! Get this baby out!” I screamed, my body was shaking already. I didn’t care about anything else in that moment—I just needed this pain to end. I needed her out.
And I had more important things to do.
“Careful, careful,” one of the midwives murmured as she adjusted my position.
“Arghhh!” I screamed as I felt another sharp pain. Even sharper than before from my back and my belly.
