Chapter 42. The Meeting
Theodore’s POV
“Adeline, it’s getting late already,” I called out, standing in front of our house, waiting for her.
Tonight was the pack gathering, and I wanted us to arrive together and early.
“I’m coming!” she called from inside.
I checked my watch again, feeling the seconds slip away.
“Oh my,” I muttered. Just then, she rushed outside, slightly breathless.
“I’m so sorry,” she said, smoothing down her dress. “I wanted to make sure my hair was okay and it—”
I cut her off with a soft smile. “It’s okay, baby. You look beautiful.” I reached for her hand. “This is our first public gathering together as a couple, and you look perfect.”
She smiled, with her cheeks popping as I leaned in and kissed her gently.
“It’s strange, though,” she murmured as we walked toward the car.
“Strange? What is?” I asked, opening the door for her.
“That I was invited. Don’t you think so?”
